Learn procedural 3D creation through a practical, project-based Houdini course covering node-based workflows, modelling, attributes, look development, dynamics and real-time integration.
Houdini uses a node-based procedural approach that allows artists to build systems, explore variations and revise complex work efficiently. It is widely used across visual effects, animation, games, motion design, virtual production and design visualisation.
This course introduces the logic behind procedural workflows while helping participants build confidence with the interface, geometry, attributes and connected production tools. It should be presented as a fundamentals course rather than a promise to master both basic and advanced Houdini in five days.

Build and modify geometry through node networks, reusable operations and parameter-driven workflows.

Understand how point, vertex, primitive and detail data can control geometry and procedural decisions.

Gain an introductory understanding of scene layout, lighting and look-development concepts through Houdini’s USD-based Solaris environment

Explore foundational simulation concepts for collisions, fractured objects, cloth or soft-body behaviour, subject to the current outline

Learn how a procedural node network can be packaged as an HDA and used through Houdini Engine in a compatible Unreal Engine workflow
Prerequisites: Confirm the required 3D experience, software version, computer specification and any Unreal Engine knowledge in the current course outline.

EFXCO Academy can discuss customised Houdini training for VFX, animation, games, architecture, design, education and real-time production teams. Programmes can be shaped around participant experience, intended output, preferred Houdini version, pipeline requirements, schedule and delivery format.
EFXCO Academy is an HRD Corp registered training provider. Claim eligibility, programme registration and supporting documentation should be confirmed before enrolment.

Yes. It is designed as a structured fundamentals course. Familiarity with another 3D application may help but should not be presented as mandatory unless required by the current outline.
Participants complete guided exercises and project-based tasks covering procedural geometry, attributes and selected effects or integration workflows. Confirm the current project outcome before registration
The fundamentals course introduces VOPs or VEX and selected dynamics concepts. The depth depends on participant experience and the approved five-day outline.
The course can introduce HDAs and Houdini Engine for a compatible Unreal Engine workflow. Confirm the software versions and exact integration topics for the intake.
Yes. EFXCO can discuss content based on your team’s experience, pipeline, desired outputs, software versions, schedule and delivery format.
Selected programmes may support HRD Corp claims, subject to employer eligibility, current programme registration and supporting documentation.
The required Houdini edition and version, SideFX account, computer specifications and project files should be confirmed in the current course outline.

The latest Unreal Engine 5.8 release brings powerful new tools for creators, developers, technical artists, virtual production teams, and real-time content creators.
